Water aggressiveness test according to PN-EN 206:2021
Water aggressiveness testing according to PN-EN 206:2021 is based primarily on the chemical analysis of water samples and the assessment of their parameters. The following aquatic environment parameters are determined:
- pH of water.
- Sulphate concentration (SO₄²⁻).
- Ammonium ion concentration (NH₄⁺).
- Chloride concentration
- Magnesium ion concentration (Mg²⁺).
- Aggressive carbon dioxide (CO₂ aggressive) – the amount of free CO₂ capable of chemically reacting with concrete.
The obtained results enable the designer to properly select the composition of the concrete mix (e.g. the use of sulphate-resistant cements or appropriate mineral additives), which ensures the durability and resistance of the concrete structure.
